The Art of Non-Comformity
Chris Guillebeau’s blog The Art of Non-Conformity was suggested by Seth Godin author of Tribes a book about how leadership is the best marketing tool for any organisation. Chris writes about giving up assumptions, expectations and the comfort zones that hold us back. Instead he encourages us to do the things we enjoy and in so doing make incredible differences to the lives of others. Chris is a true example of ‘walking the talk’. His goal is to visit every country in the world and he is well on his way.

His essence is:
1. I don’t have to live my life the way other people expect me to.
2. If I don’t decide for myself what I want to get out of life, someone will end up deciding for me.
3. There is usually more than one way to accomplish something.
4. I can do good things for myself and help other people at the same time.

What is your essence?

www.storypeople.com
Storypeople.com is delightfully difficult to describe but I will have a go. It is a marvellous mix of language and images capturing snippets of delicious metaphoric stories which invite your imagination to find some personal meaning. It is also a wonderful example of people doing something they love for a living and creating opportunities for team members to express their unique talents and identities. It looks like they have a fantastic time. Sign up to receive their daily story or just log on for a random blast of inspiration.

monday9am
This is a wonderful source of inspiration. Nic Askew decided not to take the next promotion offered to him but couldn't really understand why...until he borrowed a camera and made a short film about commuters in London. This led him to create his 5 minute films to capture ‘life’, and provoke recognition and an experience of it. Film stars range from some famous people to some extraordinary-ordinary folk. Watch some of the movies and you will see what we mean.

www.tut.com
Totally Unique Thoughts is Mike Dooley's fabulous site about the link between our thoughts and our experiences. Watch him on video explaining how thoughts become things, and register for his daily messages from the Universe for a daily dose of inspiration! You can also buy his books, CDs etc from this site.

www.timothyfreke.com
Log on and find out about how Tim Freke thinks about waking up and living lucidly. He has a very refreshing vibrancy about him and his approach can really help us all to step back and think about the person who is thinking about the ‘working me’.

www.sueknight.co.uk
This is the best NLP School in the UK for focusing on the use of NLP as an effective tool for managing yourself and managing yourself at work. Very practical with some lovely inspirational news letters from Sue's travel and life experiences. She is clearly a great example of someone who is in her 'natural element' in her work.

www.positivesharing.com
A fantastic website ran by Alexander Kjerulf, also known as ‘The Chief Happiness Officer’. Alexander is author of ‘Happy Hour is 9 to 5 - how to love your job, love your life and kick butt at work’. He is also a speaker, consultant and (in his own words), the worlds hardest-working slacker. His website is constantly updated with news, articles and posts about how to find and maintain happiness at work.

www.authenticbusiness.co.uk
Neil Croft's Authentic Business is a weekly authentic inspiration e-mail and monthly newsletter about doing business with purpose as well as profit – you can read articles and feel inspired or submit your own inspiring articles and promote your business.

www.planetsark.com
This is my all time favourite site for inspiration. Sark is a talented artist and author. She says she had over 200 different jobs before she began writing, drawing and creating her inspirational posters and books. Apparently her very first job was The Wake-Up Fairy at kindergarten! She is awesomely honest about herself and deeply committed to sharing her insights and experiences in a way that is delightfully simple, creative and fun. She has an excellent Radiant Resources section on her site which is overflowing with suggestions for books, sites, workshops and much, much, more. Dive in and enjoy! LC

www.thebeyondpartnership.co.uk
The Beyond Partnership is dedicated to presenting leading edge ideas about human development. They host workshops and seminars from some of the world's leading thinkers, writers, coaches and trainers. I have attended several excellent programmes with David Whyte (poet/philosopher), Dan Millman (The Way of the Peaceful Warrior) and Marie Faire (NLP, Spiral Dynamics and 7 Habits). It is well worth registering with them for early notification of events as they seem to attract some fascinating presenters. LC

www.artofintuition.co.uk
